However, Kovacic equalized six minutes later, taking advantage of Fulham's failure to clear a corner kick, slotting the ball into the net.
Kovacic completed his brace in the 47th minute after receiving a pass from Jack Grealish, firing a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area into the goal. In the 82nd minute, Jeremy Doku added City's third goal with a powerful strike, marking his first goal of the season.
