Ronaldo reaches 1 billion followers and breaks records

The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo continues his career of breaking records, both on and off the football field.

The star of Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr club announced today, Friday, that the number of his followers on his social media accounts has reached one billion.

"We’ve made history — 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number - it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond," Ronaldo said in a post on the "X" platform.

He added: "From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, I’ve always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together."

He continued: "You have been with me every step of the way, through the good times and the bad. This journey is our journey, and together we’ve shown there are no limits to what we can achieve."

He concluded his post by saying: "Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, and being part of my life. The best is yet to come, and we’ll keep winning and making history together."

Last week, Ronaldo became the first football player in history to score 900 goals in official matches, as he netted a goal in his national team Portugal's match against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League, leading his country to a 2-1 victory.

After the match, Ronaldo commented: "This means a lot... It was an achievement I've wanted to reach for a long time. I knew I would get to this number, because as long as I keep playing, it would happen naturally
