Paris Saint-Germain crushes Montpellier with a six-pointer

 In the opening match of the second round of Ligue 1 today, Paris Saint-Germain faced Montpellier and secured a resounding victory with a score of 6-0.


The match kicked off at 18:45 GMT at the Parc des Princes stadium and saw Paris Saint-Germain dominate. Bradley Barcola scored the opening goal in the 4th minute, followed by a second goal from the experienced Marco Asensio in the 24th minute. Despite Montpellier's attempts, Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma excelled in goal, ending the first half with a clear lead for PSG.





In the second half, PSG continued their strong performance, with Barcola adding the third goal in the 53rd minute, his second of the match, thanks to an assist from Ousmane Dembélé. Just five minutes later, Moroccan player Achraf Hakimi scored a brilliant goal in the 58th minute.


The team didn't stop there, as they added the fifth goal just two minutes later through Warren Zaire-Emery. Finally, Lee Kang-in scored the sixth and final goal in the 82nd minute. Montpellier struggled to respond, and the match ended with a clear victory for Paris Saint-Germain, who had 69% possession. The match also featured impressive team play, with PSG completing 744 passes, placing them at the top of the standings. Marseille will aim to catch up when they face Reims on Sunday.
