Napoli, the Serie A club, announced on Wednesday the signing of Brazilian winger David Neres from Portuguese club Benfica on a permanent deal. According to Benfica's statement, the transfer is valued at €28 million, with potential bonuses increasing the total to €30 million. Neres has represented Brazil in eight international matches.
The 27-year-old began his career at São Paulo in Brazil before moving on to Ajax Amsterdam and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Neres joined Benfica in 2022, where he won the Primeira Liga in his first season and scored 17 goals in 83 appearances for the club.
Napoli, who failed to defend their title last season and finished in tenth place, will face Bologna next week.
