Phil Foden, the Manchester City forward, won the PFA Player of the Year award on Tuesday.
Foden played a key role in his team's unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title.
The 24-year-old contributed to 26 goals last season, scoring 19 and providing 8 assists under the guidance of Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, who secured the title ahead of Arsenal on the final day of the season.
Foden said, "Winning this award is very special. I am very proud and grateful. To be honored in this way by your fellow professionals means a lot to me. I thank everyone who voted for me."
He added, "I also want to extend a special thanks to Pep, the coach, and all my teammates who help me improve every day."
Foden has set his sights on winning a fifth consecutive Premier League title after Manchester City began their title defense campaign with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday.
He added, "Last season was very special for everyone at the club, but our focus is now fully on achieving more success this season."
Foden won the Player of the Season award for the 2023-2024 Premier League and was also named Player of the Year by the Football Writers' Association.
Foden outperformed his teammates, Norwegian Erling Haaland and Spaniard Rodri, as well as former Manchester City and current Chelsea player Cole Palmer, Arsenal's Martin Ødegaard, and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins.
Palmer won the Young Player of the Year award given by the same association, marking the first time since Wayne Rooney and James Milner in the 2009-2010 season that two English players have won both awards.
