Al-Nasr Club continues to fail

In an exciting match between Al-Nassr and Al-Raed held on August 22, 2024, as part of the Saudi Pro League, the game ended in a 1-1 draw after strong performances from both teams. Al-Nassr entered the match under heavy pressure following a painful 4-1 loss to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final. The primary goal of this match was to reconcile with the fans and get back on track with victories.

From the start, Al-Nassr controlled the game with 65% possession, adopting an attacking strategy (4-2-3-1) with Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Talisca leading the front line. On the other hand, Al-Raed opted for a defensive formation (5-4-1) to contain Al-Nassr’s offensive threat. During the match, Al-Nassr created numerous opportunities, with 28 shots, including 8 on target, compared to just 7 shots for Al-Raed.

In the 78th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Al-Nassr, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside. This decision halted the joy of the team and fans, who were eager for their first league win.

Although Al-Nassr showed clear dominance in terms of passing and shots, Al-Raed delivered an organized defensive performance, resulting in a draw. This draw was disappointing for Al-Nassr, especially after their Super Cup loss, putting more pressure on coach Luis Castro to keep up the league title chase.

Additionally, Al-Nassr was affected by some absences, such as the injury of Ayman Yahya, which influenced the team’s overall performance. Despite this, Al-Nassr remains one of the top contenders for the Saudi Pro League title this season, especially after strengthening their squad with major signings like Sadio Mane and continuing to rely on Ronaldo as the team’s captain.
